Development of Silicone Outer Shell Type Pneumatic Soft Actuator

The pneumatic soft actuators have both passive flexibility of the casing and active through pressurizing depressurizing. These features are expected to be human-friendly because they enable approach using an original system by controlling internal air pressure. current actuator has two technical points interest; control method driving direction operating pressure level, requiring match these points. In this study, a with silicone rubber case, SCSRA (Sponge Core Soft Rubber Actuator) was proposed developed respond requirement. Thought some experimental results, it is cleared that controlled realizing large stroke in low-pressure region 30kPa or less as well peeling adhering film.
